MEET OUR DESIGNERS

Jennifer Rapp
Associate ASID, Principal Designer, Owner
Jenny has been serving the greater Saint Louis community as an interior designer for fifteen years. In 2011 she founded JCR Design Group, specializing in the design, renovation and decoration of upscale living spaces, kitchens, and baths. With an enthusiasm for mixing styles and textures, Jenny’s interiors epitomize classic, timeless design. Mingling a client’s personal treasures with newly selected pieces, her rooms reflect a unique blend of comfort, style and polish, and are as individual as her clients.

Clients come to Jenny for her down to earth approach towards interior design. She believes that the process should be exciting and fun, and she enjoys working collaboratively with her clients to understand, define and realize their best vision for their homes. Her passion for design is evident in every project she undertakes and is apparent in every finished space that truly reflects the client’s personality, lifestyle and experiences.

Born and raised in New England, with an undergraduate degree from Brown University, Jenny’s early career was as a commercial banker in New York and Chicago. Although not creatively satisfying, this business experience has served her well. In 2002, Jenny’s passion for design led her to pursue a career in the field, and she joined a prominent local design firm where she gained exceptional experience and developed extensive relationships with local and national showrooms, first-class workrooms, and highly skilled craftsmen. These relationships continue to serve her well today.

In addition to her work in Saint Louis, Jenny’s designs can be found in homes in Chicago, Boston, New York, Naples and Vero Beach. She has also completed a number of commercial projects for area schools and churches. Jenny lives in Saint Louis with her husband of thirty plus years. They travel as much as possible between San Francisco and Washington, DC to visit their two grown sons and their wonderful daughters-in-law.

Emily Koch
Designer
Emily recalls a desire to be an Interior Designer since age twelve. That desire was cultivated through her family’s shared love of architecture and home design. She was always involved in her family’s personal home design and often tagged along during open houses that her parents frequently attended on Sunday afternoons. The passion for design eventually resulted in the pursuit of Interior Design as a college major, and included a semester abroad, studying Architecture, Design and Italian culture in Ariccia, Italy.

After graduating from Auburn University’s CIDA accredited Interior Design program in 2007, Emily moved to Atlanta, GA. While in Atlanta, Emily gained design experience in Corporate Interiors, Hospitality, Mixed Use, and High-End Residential interiors. Design of a newly constructed Spring Hill Suites and Lowes Hotel were among some of Emily’s commercial design projects. Residential projects include everything from full kitchen renovations to custom furnishings in high-rise condos.

Emily joined JCR Design Group in the Spring of 2013. She continues to develop her love for design through each new project. Most recently, she has enjoyed working on multiple commercial office building renovations for a local Real Estate Developer in addition various Residential projects. Currently, she resides in St. Louis with her husband and two young children.

Kristin Kisling Mcgrath
Designer
Kristin and Jenny first began working together in 2008, and realized that their approach to design was very similar. When Jenny established JCR Design Group, it was an easy decision for Kristin to join her. “Not many people have a career that they love and people they enjoy working with: I feel very fortunate to have found both”.

After graduation, Kristin returned to Saint Louis to work for a national furniture company designing visual displays for local stores. Although she had been drawing floor plans and houses since childhood, it was at this time that she realized how much she loved interior design. She returned to school for graduate work and turned her passion for design into a career. Since then, Kristin has worked with several established local designers and grown adept at blending her love of antiques with more contemporary pieces to create unique, fun, and inspired interiors. “Being exposed to different designers was not only great experience, it also helped me cultivate my own style”. Kristin’s interiors are always fresh and inviting, yet each space reflects the character and history of each client and is as unique as they are.

Today Kristin stays busy finding a balance between her design work and raising four teenage daughters.
