Title: Radiantly Modern

This fireplace makeover was part of an overall townhome renovation. The challenge was to transform the space to better suit the family’s more contemporary tastes while not clashing with the traditional architecture of the home. At first sight, the clients fell in love with the Claros Silver travertine stacked stone which was used on the face of the fireplace and adjacent built-ins. Floating walnut shelves with backlit LED strips were installed above cabinets flanking the fireplace with a walnut mantel to unify the space. A natural stone surround of Calcutta Oro was used which mimics the quartz countertops installed in the adjacent kitchen. All work was completed while the family was overseas for the summer. Similar to an episode of “While You Were Out,” the clients returned to a transformed home that fit their style like a glove.
